BIG LIFT FY26 District 1

SUGGESTED ACTIONS BEFORE YOU APPLY:

1. Read the BIG LIFT Guidelines to ensure your project meets the requirements. Property owners and tenants may apply depending on the category. 
2. Schedule a meeting with BCIC staff to discuss your project by emailing Eric Quintero: equintero@brownsvillecic.com.
3. Ensure your project is within District 1 of the City of Brownsville.

Note: If your project is not in District 1, you'll need to wait until the program becomes available in your district before you can be considered. The timeline is available in the guidelines. Below are the timelines for the cycle opening for future applications.

If you are outside of District 1 but would like to apply, please fill out our interest form to stay informed and receive reminders about future district cycle openings.

District 1 Open Cycle June 1 – July 10, 2026

District 2 Open Cycle September 1 –Oct. 9, 2026

District 3 Open Cycle December 1 –Jan. 15, 2027

District 4 Open Cycle March 1 – April 19, 2027

THE PROGRAM IS NOT INTENDED TO FULLY FUND, OR KICKSTART PROJECTS, AND THE APPLICANT MUST DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY HAVE THE AVAILABLE CAPITAL TO COMPLETE THE ENTIRE PROJECT.

IF THE APPLICATION IS DENIED BY THE BCIC BOARD, THE APPLICANT IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY.
